Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 (6oz.) package sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 mozzarella string cheese, or slice of mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, warmed

Recipe Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and coat with nonstick cooking spray. Layer pepperoni slices into 4 2x4-inch football shapes on prepared baking sheet, arranging them about 2 inches apart. Top each pepperoni mound evenly with roughly 1 tablespoon mozzarella.
  2. Using a paring knife, cut pastry into 4 3x5-inch football-shapes. Top each pepperoni mound with one piece of pastry, pressing down the edges to seal. Using a fork, poke small holes on the tops of each pastry along the center. Brush pastry with egg.
  3. Bake until golden-brown and crispy, about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from baking sheet and invert onto serving tray.
  4. Slice string cheese into short and long strips to resemble football laces. Arrange string cheese strips on top of pizza to resemble football laces. Serve with marinara sauce and enjoy.
