Recipe Ingredients

  • Olive oil, for brushing grill grates
  • 1 small bell pepper, seeded and quartered
  • 1 small red onion, cut into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag Gardein® Plant-Based Be’f Burger
  • Taco seasoning mix, to taste
  • 4 slices pepper Jack cheese
  • 2 sesame seed buns, lightly toasted
  • 1 avocado, halved, pitted, peeled and mashed
  • 2 tablespoons pickled jalapeño peppers, drained

Recipe Directions

  1. Heat grill or grill pan to high heat and brush grates with oil. Working in batches if necessary, grill bell peppers and onions, turning occasionally, until lightly charred and tender, about 3 to 5 minutes. Cut peppers into 1/2-inch slices and separate onion slices into rings. Set aside.
  2. Sprinkle burgers with taco seasoning. Grill according to package directions. With about 1 minute remaining on cook time, add 1 slice of cheese to each burger and cook until melted.
  3. Spread avocado on both sides of buns. Top each bottom bun with 2 burgers, a layer of peppers, and onion. Season with taco seasoning. Top with jalapeños and top bun. Serve and enjoy.
