Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, cored and sliced thinly
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 -1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar for garnish

Recipe Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper, and cut one sheet of puff pastry into 6 rectangles.
  3. Lay out the puff pastry rectangles on the prepared sheet pan. Drizzle maple syrup onto each rectangle, making the area slightly smaller than the size of the puff pastry.
  4. Then add the almonds, brown sugar and finally the apples overlapping on each.
  5. Cover each with a rectangle of puff pastry, and gently press down on the apples, also pressing down on the edges.
  6. Brush each top with the beaten egg, and bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool a minute before flipping over and serving with a dusting of powdered sugar.
