Recipe Ingredients

Frozen Hot Chocolate:

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 envelope hot cocoa mix
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/2 cup Graeter’s Double Chocolate Chip Handcrafted Ice Cream
  • Cool Whip
  • marshmallows (optional)

Chocolate-Dipped Marshmallow Straws:

  • 10 oz. dark chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 (16 oz.) package of marshmallows
  • nonpareils for decoration

Recipe Directions

Frozen Hot Chocolate:

  1. Add cocoa mix, milk, ice and Graeter’s Ice Cream to a blender or smoothie maker and blend well.
  2. Pour into a glass and top with Cool Whip, marshmallows, sprinkles and chocolate syrup (if desired).
  3. Add a straw (see below) and enjoy immediately.

Chocolate-Dipped Marshmallow Straws:

  1. Prepare a tray or trays lined with parchment paper.
  2. Poke a straw into a marshmallow and lay on the tray. Repeat with as many marshmallow straws as you desire to make.
  3. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the wafers at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir.
  4. Continue to melt in the microwave at 50% 30-second intervals until the wafers are mostly melted. Stir after every interval.
  5. Take the bowl out of the microwave and let sit for a few minutes to continue melting until smooth. The heat from the bowl will finish the melting process.
  6. Pour nonpareils in a bowl, enough to have a depth of 1-inch in the bowl.
  7. Dip the top half of the marshmallow into the chocolate with the straw in a vertical position. Swirl in the chocolate to ensure the top half of the marshmallow is fully coated.
  8. Hold the marshmallow above the chocolate and lightly shake off any excess chocolate.
  9. Dip the marshmallow in the nonpareils.
  10. Lay the marshmallow straw on the tray ensuring that it doesn’t touch the sides of the tray or the other marshmallow straws.
  11. Let marshmallows cool and harden – about 15 minutes.
