The change of seasons can be an exciting time: football is in full swing, nature’s fireworks are on display and much of the hazy heat has faded into cool, crisp weather.  Fall is also a time to get back to very busy schedules.

Fortunately, with all the delicious selections in the frozen food aisles, it’s easier to make it through your hectic weeks.

  • Breakfast can be hassle-free when you opt for frozen foods.  Waffles, breakfast sandwiches and pastries, bagels and juices can get the day started right, with no time wasted.
  • After-school snacks at your finger tips are mini-bagels (serve with peanut butter), pizza bites, popsicles and more.
  • Stock your freezer with the many new selections of frozen dinner entrees – when you need a tasty, hot meal in a hurry, it is the ultimate “fast food”.
Find time to enjoy the big games with family and friends.  With options such as frozen pizzas, wings, dips, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, spicy cheese bites and hot pockets, it’s easy entertaining and there’s something for everyone.  Celebrate after the game with desserts such as pies, cakes and ice cream.

Many harmful bacteria can live for hours on kitchen surfaces. Keep your cutting boards, counters, knives, dishcloths and towels clean.

  • Don’t use sponges in the kitchen – they collect small pieces of food and are hard to clean.
  • Use paper towels to clean juices from raw meat off kitchen surfaces.
  • Clean your cutting board in hot, soapy water using a scrub brush to remove food. Spray it with a weak bleach mixture, rinse and allow it to air dry.

Try the wide variety of tasty vegetables in the frozen food aisles.  They are actually “fresher than fresh” in that they are “flash-frozen” immediately after harvest – either right in the fields or close by.  This advanced process preserves the vegetables’ freshness and their nutritional benefits remain intact.  You can be assured of a healthy, quality product, any season of the year.
